UNILAG POST UTME 2012/2013 EXAMS-ADMISSION UPDATE:JAMB RELEASES UNILAG COMPETITION LIST-RESULTS OUT HERE

JAMB released the stats for students who choose UNILAG as their first and second choice yesterday.
Medicine made the highest of these with 7,891 preferred choice. Accountancy came third with  7,668 points. Surprised among the top 20 was English Language, which came 12th position ahead of Petroleum/Gas and even Finance.

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?

It gives the government good data to use for planning.
It gives the student looking for admission, to know which course to change to or chose with little competition
Courses like Medicine, Accountancy, Business Admin are too competitive.

 See the top 20 courses HERE.

Intake for each department is usually around 30-150. so if we imagine 30% of these scored above
200 to qualify for the Post Utme exams, then the competition will be fierce.

The top 20 usaully is reserved for the merit list. If you already scored more than 235 in Jamb 2012
exams, then you just need to score a little above 65/100 in the post Utme to beat te merit list for most of these courses.

As someone who need to get admission to UNILAG this session 2012/2013,
Take the following 4 steps:

1) Get past questions and start reading as soon as possible.
 From my experience UNILAG repeats it questions.  If you master them you are sure of
 making good grades, even if you dont attend any tutorials.

 2)You can do a change of course.
 Unilag does internal change of course. you see courses like [Education And Igbo] with 7 enteries.
will be over 70 admitted by the time the dust settles. How? change of course.
So look at the list and find the one that will favor you. A stitch in time saves nine.
Act fast. When UNILAG starts selling this form, I will notify you. Always check back.

 3) Get connected with someone who can help you.
  Why do I say this? Listen to me carefully.
 At times when what you plan does not come through you fall back on plan B.
  Find someone who can help in case you dont make the merit list.
  Don't give anyone any money. If you are within Lagos environ, all you have to do is go to your
  chosen faculty before the exams and check around.
  Speak to the faculty students leaders, just ask around you will get to meet them, especially the ladies. they can tell you one or two things that will help you. Tell them why you came around.
  Don't just sit at home, no miracle will come meet you there, sometimes you need to work out the miracle.

You can also meet your faculty secretaries-those mamas, or papas can be very helpful and connected.
  Dont be afraid, God's mercies and favor will guide you.

  4) Ask for God favor.
 After all said and done, its God that gives promotion.  If God does not favor you, even if you scored 99/100, you may still not get the admission.  So seek him in prayers and make a vow to your God and he will surely help you.

Medicine and Surgery still remains the favorites of students applying for admission according to the statistics just released by Jamb. The Business and Social Sciences dominated the top 10 positions.

There were no Engineering courses in the top 10. Only Computer science made it to that list.

Madonna University Starts 2012/2013 Post-UTME/Admission Process

Madonna University, the first private University in Nigeria and the first Catholic University in Nigeria, has begun her process for admission into the 2012/2013 academic process.

The school which boasts of 2 fully equiped campuses in Okija (For arts inclined students) and Elele (For Science, engineering and medically inclined students) will require the following conditions for students to be successfully admitted;

- A minimum Jamb Cut-off of 180
- A credit pass in 5 Relevant O'level Subjects required for the course of study.

1. Print out of your Jamb's Official Result Slip
2. Copies of your O'level documents.
3. Copies of Birth Certificates
4. At least 4 Passport Photos, preferably with red background.
5. N6600 for processing fee

Candidates who have met the requirements above are to report to the campus of their course as soon as they are prepared to write the exam, even on the same day. No specific deadline has been fixed for closing this admission application process.

University of Lagos (UNILAG) Post Graduates Forms Out for 2012/2013 Session

UNILAG announces its admission forms sales for 2012/2013 session.

The School of Postgraduate Studies, University of Lagos invites applications from suitably qualified candidates from recognized institutions for admission into Full-Time, Part-Time and Sandwich Postgraduate programmes of the University leading to the award of Postgraduate Diplomas, Masters Degrees by Coursework, Professional Master Degrees, Master of Philosophy Degrees and Doctor of Philosophy Degrees in the 2012/2013 Session.

The Sale of Application Forms will commence on Friday, April 27, 2012 and close on Friday, June 8, 2012.

Unilag has extended the PG submission dates.
Completed application forms are to be submitted online not later than Friday, June 22, 2012. Hard copies of the Application Forms with Credentials are to be submitted in the respective Departments.

(Failure to comply with specified image format may lead to disqualification.)

Click “SUBMIT FORM” button if the information is correct, else, click DECLINE button.  After submission, applicants will be required to print the completed Application Form and Acknowledgement Slip.  This will be required for submission before entrance examination.

Candidates are required to LAMINATE their Acknowledgment Slip after printing.

JAMB To Publish 2012/2013 Official Admission Cut-Off Marks on May 21st

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has re-emphasized her readiness to make the official cut-off marks of various monotechnics and polytechnics nationwide.

Speaking on the issue on Thursday in Abuja, the JAMB boss, Prof. Dibu Ojerinde, revealed that the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board has set May 21st date she will openly broadcast the admission cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics and colleges of educations.

He also hoped that a harmonized cut-off point would kick start admission process for 2012/2013 across the nations institutions of learning.

Candidates who scored lower than the cut-off marks of their various choice of institutions still have an opportunity to switch to schools/courses with lower score requirements. This changes in courses or schools or both will end on the 27th day of April, 2012.
