WHEN IS REGISTRATION CLOSING DATE? - UNILAG PG ADMISSION 2016/2017
I got this questions from a student:
" Hello Mr Dan,
When is the closing date for registration, I learnt it's this week, 30th Jan. Please help as I haven't done my registration"
This is a legit question.
The Unilag Pg sent out a circular some weeks back that the registration will last for 4 weeks.
The registration was suppose to start Jan 3rd. However they didn't start then they started Jan 9th hence most people believed the 4th week will expire Jan 30th.
This is not the case as convocation has eaten deep into the time.
The new date for close of registration as annouce is 24TH february 2017.
Note that date again
24th february 2017.
so you still have 4 weeks to look for money and after that there will be late registration which normally will attract like N10000
so no issue if you ask me.
I will be giving out updates as they come in.

Step-by-Step Guide - HOW to PAY OBLIGATORY & TUITION FEES ONLINE (UNILAG PG SCREENING/REGISTRATION)
Many postgraduates students who were successful in the last MSc, masters and Post graduate diploma exams are getting ready to go through the famous strenuous process of registration and screening.
This is coming after the gruesome and hypertension-causing admission list drama released last week.
The admission list which came out bit by bit had loads of questions to answer, as many who were recommended did not find their names in the eventual list.
That is story for another day.
The Pg school management eventually announced registration and screening to start immediately.
However, students are confused as to how and where to pay their fees, as such instructions were not clearly stated.
I have received loads and loads of questions from admitted students and I will try in this post to answer the most popular questions.
Aparts from how to download admission letter and payment advise, which I already treated
Top three questions I received are:
1. When is the Registration/screening starting
2. When will registration end
3. Can we pay our fees online?
Well in this post I will answer all three questions

RRR(REMITA RETRIEVAL REFERENCE) NUMBER is used for TSA payment.
Note you will pay N100 as charges.
if you prefer, you can take any of these to the bank for bank payment.
Note your RRR number is unique to you, if you use someone else number, that person will be credited with the payment.

The Step by Step Guide to Unilag Postgraduate Registration/Verification Process 2016/2017
After I posted the 2016 admission list here, we got lot of calls on where to go or what to do first.
Many are still overwhelmed even as some departments admission list is still not being uploaded. This is really an embarrassment for the management of the Postgraduate studies. Something must be done fast about this.

To avoid people been confused and feeling frustrated, let me prepare your mind and legs for the journey you are about to embark on.
Its will be filled with fun and jerks, you will make many friends and meet your classmates for the first time. it will be like the old Jamb period re-enactment.
Just enjoy the process, because trust me many people will get on your nerves.
you will be moving from one desk to the other carrying white papers for signing as if you are begging for food to eat.
Meanwhile, lectures might be going on in your department.
So in this post I listed the step by step guide or call it TABLE BY TABLE GUIDE to Unilag Pg registration exercise and signing.
I expect you to have downloaded your admission letter and your payment advise

Step by Step guide to Registration & their Venues
STEP 1. Make copies and print all of your documents listed in my post here.
STEP 2. Pay your N5k for Pg prospectus at the PG school near education then collect receipt which is requirement #9
Venue: Pg school Room 5
STEP 3. Go to the department to fill your required courses for the session. the department will give you the courses you need to fill. Don't worry if you make a mistake or if you don't really know which elective to take or not, just fill all, later on as the semester progress you will be asked to delete any course you dont want or fill the course you want
Venue: Your various depts
STEP 4. Signed your portion of the course forms and biodata forms. There are 4 places for four signatories
a. Yourself
b. Bursary
c. Dept
d. Pg school
Venue: In your room (lol)
STEP 5. Go to Bursary with your forms especially 1-4 and 8.
Venue: The bursary is located under the library or before you climb the stairs leading to the Main library besides the Main auditorium at Akoka campus.
(Here they might ask you for settlement as in lets wash the admission before they sign. Don't give them anything, just smile and tell them there is recession)
STEP 6. Go to the department and ask the HOD to sign your course form. This is where most forms are normally delayed. You may have to leave the forms with the secretary and come back for it the next day as, the HOD may be forming busy and wont attend to you.
(frustration point #1)
Venue: your various department
(Those whose depts are in Idiraba, will move to and fro like the CBN forex policy this season)
After successfully crossing this hurdle go to the next step
STEP 7. Go to PG school for your signing, here they will require all documents, original and all.
Your originals will be sighted and returned to you, please take it back and keep. The official will keep a copy of your document
(frustration point #2).
Here there are usually long queues and the staffs are sometimes lazy and closes before time.
Venue: Multi-purpose Hall C beside Pg school.
By this time all 4 signatories must have signed and stamped. Go to the next and final step
STEP 8. Go back to the department and submit a copy, and keep one for your self.
usually its only three copies that are required. but followed the rules and make four.
NOTE:
Duration for all these will probably take Minimum of Three hours and for some Three days, others Three weeks Max. But trust me, its stressful and filled with enough egoism and attitude from both departmental and Postgrad staffs.Get ready for drama.
After you get through this, dust yourself up and congratulate yourself as you officially became a full fledged student of The University of Lagos (UNILAG) - The school of first choice.
