When Last Did You Attend an Interview?

This question for some people is simple to answer as they attend interviews almost weekly, especially if you are looking for a job. Well what about you, when last did you attend an interview?
This question arouses from my findings that attending interviews for at least twice a year if not for anything has a very great advantage for you both in your current job and in your career growth.
In this post I will spelt out some benefits you will derive from attending interviews.

Here is a list of 11 for You
1. It keeps you updated about the industry best practices and trends.
2. It reaffirms you of what you already know. Without interviews you may think you do know some stuffs but during interviews you will come to terms with what you really know.
3. It builds your confidence level.
4. It shows you your real worth. Staying in your present employment, you may never know your real worth. Get another’s opinion.
5. It helps you get into your books again by reading. Most people don’t read after they get a job. This ought not to be.
6. It gives you alternative. You suddenly become aware that you are not stuck to where you are now.
7. It helps you to know your strengths and weaknesses.
8. You can use it to negotiate for a better salary with your present employer if you are very sure of your self and good, especially if you already got the employment letter in your hand.
9. It enhances your capability and thinking process. This makes you ignite the practise of thinking on your feet.
10. It broaden your scope and possibilities in your in industry
11. This singular act can make your employer see the value in you and think he needs to act fast before he loses you.

There are many more benefits in attending interviews. But staying away because you feel you don’t need another job is short-changing your career development.

So my question is when next will you attend an interview?
Don’t forget the best job is the one you create for yourself.
Cheers.
