Job Description:

• Develop a sound understanding of the existing software applications and interfaces Development and deployment of APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for seamless integration between applications.
• Development and deployment of bespoke applications as may be required to support the business needs.
• Automating business processes into a solution in a manner that productivity and efficiency are enhanced.
• Development and integration of web/web services applications for SOA compliance using J2EE, XML, and SOAP etc.
• Development of mobile applications using STKML,WML,S@TML and J2ME. UNIX shell scripting.
• Adhere to all IS Policies and Standards.
• SLA compliance with regards to user support (quick turnaround times on logged calls)
• Setup and execute technical test plans for application change, new deployment and upgrades Keep all application documentation updated at all times
• Construct a proactive maintenance cycle per application Develop quality code / application components within project timelines

Job Conditions:

Normal open office planning Work within a multicultural, diverse and dynamic start-up environment. Projects and constraints will require overtime and weekend work

Reporting To: Team Lead(SIM & Mobile Applications)

Required Skills:

Broad knowledge base of application development using an array of application development tools Application development lifecycles User Requirements analysis standards and methods Active participation in the planning of application changes/upgrade/deployment

Qualification:

• B.sc Computer Science or related field from a reputable institution At least 4 years work experience including 2 years practical experience as a software developer Application development and support experience in the Telecommunications sector
• Oracle PL/SQL and standard SQL.
• Java/Web development
• Operating system programming (UNIX Scripting).
• Wireless application development using Java, WML,S@TML,STKML, SMPP protocol Exposure to typical Mobile Telecommunications applications
• Billing systems (Corporate & Retail Billing, Interconnect Billing)
• ERP systems (Distribution, Retail, Finance, Payroll, HR, Asset Management)
• SIM & Mobile Applications ( EVD, Contents Management System, SIM management Application)
• GSM network interfacing applications (Provisioning, Pre-Paid management systems)
• Fraud Management Applications
• Value Added Services(VAS) Applications
