The federal government has approved a total of 51universities to offer postgraduate programmes in the country.

Matter Arising:

1.Many people believe to do masters, you need to go abroad. Good. What about those that cannot afford it
or they have business or other things they must attend to here, what should they do?

2. Government have not funded education properly in this country so how do they want it to succeed?
This is a big angle to look at this critically.

3. The quality fo the undergraduate are no where to write home about, so many feel this is a welcome development. However,  how do we solve this problem? Our future advancement depends on our graduates furtherance studies to make creative discoveries and  advancement common.

4. There are those who feel the Private uiversities are the primary victims of these low standard PG programs? I partly agree.
Many of our Private Universities are not yet structured to run Postgraduate programs properly, yet many have commence such ventures, its more like a business venture these days.

5. Competition will become stiff. From the list of those who are approved. there will be high competition and also fees for such will escalate.

what happen to education for the masses in our country?
I hope the way we are going we  wont create a big problem in our hands- If it does not exist already.
