Unilag Postgraduate/Masters 2016/2017 Form - HOW TO FILL THE APPLICATION FORM - A STEP BY STEP GUIDE


The University of Lagos (Unilag) Application form will soon be out to the general public, possibly early next month. To get wind of when the forms are released you can subscribe to this blog by entering just your email at the TOP right side of the Page.

There are many progressive things been done to make the sales of forms easier than it has been like the new initiative of Online payment which I posted here.

Likewise, the filling of the form becoming 100% online, no need to submit anything to the department anymore.

These are positive initiatives. I advise prospective students to start preparing by getting the Unilag Postgraduate Examinations KITS

There is the need to prepare you for the release of the Application form next month as one of the areas where students have issues on a yearly basis is the filling of the form.


A lot of complaint as in what to do, where to fill, and so many simple stuff.  but do not worry , you don't need to be scared as its very very simple.

I will show you a sample of the form, and give step by step guide 



The Application Process in Summary:


1. Check if your course is available 
2. Register your name on Unilag site, you collect a pin
3. Use the pin to pay in the bank
4. The bank gives you a code
5. Use the code to register on Unilag portal and fill the form
6. Submit the form online

4 Document to get ready


1. 4 passport photographs
2. NYSC certificate/call up letter for those still serving
3. BSc cert or statement for those who don't have original
4. Professional certificate like ACA, PMP, CIPM etc
5. Form fee

Try to scan these document now and load them on your cell phone or laptop
as you will need them and if anyone will be helping you with registration, they will need them too.


OTHER THINGS YOU WILL NEED:


1. The name of a referee - anybody will do, religious and academic persons ok
2. Dates of your education background plus schools attended
3. Class of degree (CGPA) if you cant remember just put something that looks like what you had.
4. Next of Kin
5. Know the faculty or department your course can be found
6. Work experience if any

Now lets get to the form proper


1. Your Personal Info:

The application number will be given to you after you paid for your application form.

Its your unique identifier number until you have your Matric Number after admission

check the details below






2. NEXT of kin. & Contact Information:

Get a name ready for this. this should be the person who you are responsible to. please the information ready.




3. Proposed course of study and academic qualifications:

You need to know the dept, and your last Undergraduate CGPA data, if 2:2 what is 3.24, or 2.67, you need to find out, if you are not sure however, just used whatever is close to it. .

At this stage upload your certificates, all that you have. it needs to follow a certain size, will show you later




4. Employment and Work History.

List your work experience here.
if you don't have any and not needed as requirement, then just put your other hustle here.
Make yourself busy.

NOTE:
For some professional courses, years of work experience will earn you as much as 10 marks. so take advantage

Nobody will verify if you are working, or worked in chevron etc its just a formality to get the 10 marks allocated for experience.

A word they say is enough for the wise.



5.  Sponsor & Referee

Just list the name of your sponsor.  Put yourself or who ever is sponsoring you there. this is straight forward. Also your referee should be filled too.


6. Professional Certificate:

If you have any relevant certificate to the course of study, please upload it here. and list it here.
its usually will attract 5-10 marks.


So that is all about the form.

    Someone told me class of degree attracts certain marks..e.g First Class attracts 10 marks, while 2:1 attracts 5 marks.
