This is a question from a first class gentleman who wanted to know if he can proceed to do his Phd in computer science in university of Lagos.
I think many people don't know that as first class graduates, they can proceed directly to do Phd in their chosen field.
Hope you learn one or two things from the answer below.

Unilag 2015 Pg Admission: Whats my chance of getting admitted in MPA?
I had this question from a subscriber about MPA(masters in Public Admin) and here is my answer below.

Hello sir,
I'm a serving batch C corp member hoping to pass out in oct. I graduated with a 2:2 in history and int'l studies. My questions are;
1. Can i really apply without nysc discharge cert.?
2. Whats my chance of getting admitted in MPA?. Thats the course on my mind. Or would u recommend any other course?
3. What's the full time tuition like?.
I anticipate your response asap. Tnks in advance.

Masters in Public Admin is a very good course for those who wants to distinguished themselves in public service.
The Master of Public Administration (M.P.Adm., M.P.A., or MPA) is a professional post-graduate degree in public administration which is the public sector's offering equivalent to the private sector's Master of Business Administration.
The MPA program is a professional degree for the public sector and it prepares you to serve as managers in the executive arm of local, state and federal government, and increasingly in non governmental organization (NGO) and non profit sectors; it places a focus on the systematic investigation of executive organization and management.
Instruction includes the roles, development, and principles of public administration; public policy management and implementation. Through its history, the MPA degree has become more interdisciplinary by drawing from fields such as economics, sociology, law, anthropology, political science, and regional planning in order to equip MPA graduates with skills and knowledge covering a broad range of topics and disciplines relevant to the public sector.
A typical MPA program usually includes courses on microeconomics, public finance, research methods / statistics, policy process and policy analysis, public financial management, managerial accounting, ethics, public management, leadership, planning & Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and program evaluation/performance measurement.
From your Bsc, you are very qualified for MPA, you just required a minimum of 3rd class to read MPA in Unilag which you already possessed.
NYSC discharge is needed when you want to register for admission. in the place where you are asked for your nysc discharge
Just upload your call-up letter, the exams will be in October so before the result comes out I believe your cert will be ready by then.
The full time tuition is N112,000.
Hope its helps your decision.
Thanks
Hope you benefit from it.
