The Epass as we call it has caused some nerves worry moments for so many

Without it, sorry no exams for you..

Note nobody will stop you from sitting from the exams if you submitted ONLINE before the deadline.

so all that story that you will be disqualified were once upon a time ---- time time stories to scared you to do the right thing.

so no disqualification any where.

That is why I told you to apply if youre passing out in OCTOBER, becos by the time the admission is ready you have your NYSC CERT.

But as usual, the JJC wont listen to wisdom, they refer it to be hard--difficult, stressful.

likewise the department submission Apostles!!!

They will be so disappointed when they finally find out all that effort was a waste of time.

The University of Lagos Consultancy Services is requesting applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following posts in UNILAG CONSULT.



1.  Managing Director


Job Summary:
This is the most senior management position. The successful candidate must be a confirmed member of academic staff of University of Lagos or any other University. The successful candidate will be offered appointment with UNILAG CONSULT for a period of 2 years in the first instance. Upon satisfactory performance, the appointment may be renewable for a further period of 2 years and no more. Candidate must be able to communicate effectively, provide leadership in research and other consultancy services, as well as initiate viable and important activities which would generate funds for the Company and University.

Qualification and Experience
1.    Have a good first degree and second degree. A higher degree such as Ph.D is an added advantage with appropriate management experience;
2.    Must not be above 55 years of age and not below 40 years and must not be below the rank of an Associate Professor of University of Lagos or any other University at the time of appointment.
3.    Show concrete evidence of success in similar assignments;
4.    Be able to establish enduring contacts in government and non-government institutions, and corporate organizations;
5.    Have a good judgement and initiative in determining sources of business for UNILAG CONSULT;
6.    Demonstrate ability to lead and work in an academic environment.


2. PROJECT OFFICER


Job summary
1.    To co-ordinate and complete activities related to the organization’s projects and effectively perform a variety of project-related administrative duties.
2.    Regularly provide advice on the management of projects, organize the various professionals working on a project.
3.    Be able to carry out risk assessment, oversees project accounting, costing and billing.
4.    Agreeing with project aims and objectives and responsible for project management and timely delivery of projects.
5.    Organizing and monitoring the various professionals and sub-contractors working on multiple development projects to ensure guidelines and timelines are maintained.

Qualification and Experience
1.    Not above 40 years of age.
2.    Minimum 3 years’ experience in the construction industry, preferably in a constructing environment.
3.    Minimum of Degree; B.Sc. in Quantity Survey, Civil Engineering or Building.
4.    Professional Qualification in Project Management will be an added advantage.
5.    Successful completion of NYSC or exemption certificate.


3. AUDITOR

Job summary

Reporting to Managing Director, the Auditor will be primarily responsible for:
1.    Verifying all transactions regarding assets, liability, revenue and expenses of the company.
2.    Perform physical verification of assets both within and outside the company premises.
3.    Ensure proper labelling of assets for proper monitoring. 
4.    Enforcing and monitoring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
5.    Ensure proper maintenance of asset register and account payable and receivable records for audit purposes.
6.    Avoiding legal challenges by complying with legal requirements; including statutory obligations, withholding, corporate tax, VAT and PAYE.
7.    Securing financial and other information by regular back-ups.
8.    Training and mentoring of junior audit staff.
9.    Making recommendations to Managing Director based on timely review process and procedures.
10.  Carrying out any other work as assigned by Managing Director.
11.  System Auditing and investigation.
12.  Monitoring and review of controls


Qualification and Experience:
1.    Not more than 40 years of age.
2.    First degree in Accounting or Finance from a recognised Institution with a minimum 2nd  Class Lower Division plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
3.    Minimum of 3 years post NYSC Auditing experience in any industry, experience in audit practice will be an added advantage. Membership of ICAN or any other recognised accounting is required.


4. Accountant

Job Summary:
Reporting to Managing Director, the Accountant will be primarily responsible for:
1.    Preparing and Recording assets, liability, revenue and expenses entries by compiling and analyzing accounting information.
2.    Maintaining and balancing subsidiary account by verifying, allocating, posting, recording transaction; resolving discrepancies.
3.    Summarizing financial status by collating information; preparing balance sheet, revenue account and other affiliated statements in line with approved standards.
4.    Processing payroll as at when due and generating pay slips for staff with correct information showing statutory deductions.
5.    Enforcing and monitoring compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
6.    Maintaining asset register and account payable and receivable records for audit purposes.
7.    Interfacing with external auditors.
8.    Avoiding legal challenges by complying with legal requirements; including statutory obligations, withholding, corporate tax, VAT and PAYE.
9.    Securing financial and other information by regular back-ups.
10.  Training and mentoring of junior accounting staff.
11.  Making recommendations to Managing Director based on timely review of accounting processes information.
12.  Preparation of Bank reconciliation and variance analysis.
13.  Carrying out any other work as assigned by Managing Director.

Qualification & Experience

1.    Not above 40 years of age.
2.    First degree in Accounting of Finance from a recognized institution with a minimum 2nd Class Lower Division Plus NYSC Discharge Certificate or Evidence of Exemption.
3.    Minimum of 5 years post NYSC Accounting experience, private sector experience will be an added advantage.
4.    A good knowledge of IFRS (International Financial Reporting Standards) is required.
5.    Membership of ICAN or any other recognized accounting body is required.

UNILAG PG 2016/2017 EXAMS DATE FIXED FOR SEPTEMBER 17TH - 24TH 2016



As predicted Unilag Pg management released the examination dates for this year postgraduate to be held between  SEPT 17TH to 24TH.

 Although, details not given yet, this is clarion call for all involved to raised their prep level 3 notch up


 ENTRANCE/QUALIFYING EXAMINATION DATES FOR POSTGRADUATE STUDENTS


The Entrance/Qualifying Examinations of new postgraduate students of the University of Lagos for the 2016/2017 academic session will commence at the Distance Learning Institute and Multipurpose Halls A, B, C of UNILAG, from 9: 00 a.m. till 3:00 p.m. daily.
